1:32nd scale slotcars, commonly refered to by many simply as "Scalextric cars" (being the largest and most knowen brand name) are probably the most common size of slotcars. 

Well knowen manufacturers ( including Scalextric, SCX, Carrera, Slotit, NSR, Scaleauto, etc) offer a large range of components and accesories for 1:32 slotcars.

Unfortunately most 1/32nd slotcars, commercially available, are basically mass manufactured plastic toys. With modification they can be turned into consistent race cars.
