A Bit of Background

Remember playing with those cheap plastic slotcars as a kid? Many people regard these as being the same size as Scalextric cars, but these were a little smaller at 1:43rd scale. This scale is making a bit of a comeback in the Carrera "go" brand. 

Although i cannot comment on the quality, the cars and track costs lots less than the 1:32 scale cars they were derived from. With limited range in accesories, more track can be fit into a smaller space (a very noteable concern in modern living).
